Also known as Rashdoo Madivaru. The reef here is spectacular, the soft coral on the top of the spur is stunning. On the seaward side of the reef you can see Mantas , White Tip Reef Sharks, Large Bluefin Jacks, Tunas etc. While on the inside of the reef there are millions of small Gobies, Butterfly Perch, Indian Banner Fish. I don't know if he's still there but there was a very diver friendly Leaf Fish at the top end of the ridge! Listen to your dive guide's directions carefully - it's easy to get lost here.

Very nice Dive - Lots of Sharks. The visibility here is superb. Hang onto some dead coral at around thirty metres and watch the show. This dive site is on the outer reef with the depth descending to many hundreds of metres just out from the 'viewing area' . There should be many big Grey Reef sharks, maybe Eagle Rays, Barracuda and apparently some Oceanic White Tip sharks ( Big fish! ) have been reported here! To be able to see the big grey sharks circling around just below the thermocline, their eyes swivelling backwards to keep a close watch on the divers was an incredible experience.

Express and
Shark
Point. When the current is running high then 'What A Ride, What a Ride!', A nice easy drift down to the Wall and then... Whoosh, it's better than Disney. There are some nice overhangs if the current doesn't take you past them. If you are lucky you will see several grey reef sharks here. |

This is one of the most famous dives in the Maldives, you get up before dawn and set off to spot the Hammerhead Sharks. You need to be in the water by about 6 AM or you'll miss 'em! This is one of the only dives in the Maldives where you swim away from the reef out into the blue water, the fluorescent plankton in the pre dawn gloom looking like millions of stars, no torches or camera flashes are allowed as these will scare the creatures off. You need to have good air consumption for this dive and you really need to pay even more attention to your depth. If you're lucky, then after hanging in the open ocean for a while you may just make out a grey mass heading toward you - or is it your eyes playing tricks in this strange half light ? Then you realize that there are six huge Hammerheads heading straight for you! Sometimes you will see nothing, other times you might hit the jackpot and see several hundred of these incredible creatures. We only saw six or seven, but next time who knows?

When the current is strong this can be a spectacular , fast drift dive, also with strong current the big pelagic fish come out to play. You can see Hammerheads , Grey Reef Sharks, White Tip Reef Sharks, Tuna, Trevally if you're lucky. There were also several Napoleon Wrasse last time we dived here. Some of the overhangs at around 10 metres are very nice, with lots of soft corals and some big Groupers to give you a fright when they come hurtling out of the cave you're just about to swim into If the current allows it is really nice to enter the water to the east of the corner, hang around for a while watching the big creatures then ride the current around the corner to the overhangs. Watch out for the 'washing machine' effect, the current can be a bit nasty here.
